Childhood Neglect = Self-destructive Choices Later

How many years have I been trying to show there is a connection between childhood abuse (or childhood neglect) and destructive choices by the victim later in life - it's been more than 35 years since I founded COPE, Inc. to get California's law changed. Thankfully, Ronald Reagan signed it into law as CANRA (Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act).

But it seems, even now, that some parents do not recognize the importance of 'being there' for their children.

This new video by Casting Crowns, called "It's Just Another Birthday" spells out in a few minutes what it has taken me years to try to get parents to understand. Childhood damage lasts a lot longer than the childhood.

Get ready to feel tears as you watch this story unfold.

Now what was hard to understand about THAT, Dads? Moms?
