New Year Without Vision?
A new year has been 'born' - a time for reflection.
One of the most inspirational women I can remember learning about was Helen Keller. She was not born deaf or blind. But when she was 19 months old, she contracted a disease - possibly meningitis or scarlet fever - that plunged her into silence and darkness.
And we think we have problems!
But in her silent dark world, God provided. When she was five, God sent her an amazing woman named Anne Sullivan and that was the turning point. Anne enabled Helen to have vision. Helen went on to graduate from college and become a prolific writer. My Life Story was turned into a movie before Helen died in 1968. She died as an author, activist, and lecturer.
Do you have vision for this new year? Proverbs 29:18 tells us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish..."
Join me in reviewing the goals for my life. These are spiritual, relational, intellectual, physical, and financial goals. Let's pray over these and ask for God’s will to be done in each one. Hold them in an open hand and ask that God would give us wisdom as to the direction He wants for our lives. We cannot afford to be without vision.
