What Kind of Light Am I?

What kind of light am I? Is my glow perhaps a little dull - a flicker that others can see ONLY if they're really looking? Or am I the kind that brightens everything up when I walk into a room?

Christ told us in Matthew 5:

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Sometimes I am short-sighted and it dims my radiance. It can also causes me to miss out on blessings. God asks something of me, and I have the audacity to think I know what His purpose is!

Charles Stanley has a motto I just love: Obey the Lord and leave the consequences to Him. I think I'll do better to remember that this weekend.
